The Chaser Eraser Contest Is Only Available To Chase Drivers!
How To Play:
The object of the contest is to pick the highest finishing chase driver for each race.
For the all races of the Chase, you will choose just 2 Chase drivers.. The highest finishing driver will give you points for their finishing position. If they win the race, they will get 43 points. The points will go down for there, with last place receiving just one point. The other driver won't give you any points and will be eliminated. You can use a driver for the entire Chase until that driver is eliminated.
If a member picks a driver that has already been eliminated during the chase for them, they will receive 0 points for that week. Eliminated drivers for each member are displayed on this page. The 2nd driver that they picked will go down as an eliminiated driver. If they choose two drivers that have been eliminated, the highest driver in the NASCAR standings that they have not yet picked will be eliminated.
Each player must pick 2 drivers per week. If they choose only one driver... the highest driver or drivers currently in the Cup standings prior to that race will be unavailable to them for the rest of the chase. If a player picks more than two drivers, only the highest driver or drivers in the standings will be used.
The winner of the contest will receive a special award on their page, receive a free year in the Cup Series and be offered a spot to play in the LROC Series the following season. Note: Nationwide and Truck leagues cost additional fees if you are playing in them next year.
Gary Wheat pulls off a late surprise to take the Chaser Eraser Championship!
Well, the odds were stacked against Gary Wheat but he managed to overcome them. Gary and Nathan Helton had two of the same final three drivers to use at Homestead. Gary first had to pick the one driver that Nathan wouldn't use, if he picked the same two, he would automatically lose. Gary gambled that Nathan would use Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth and that's just what happened. Gary took Kenseth and Kevin Harvick. So basicly Gary had to hope that Harvick would finish over both Kenseth and Biffle. Luckily for him, that's just what happened. Harvick's fuel strategy allowed him to finish in 2nd place while Kenseth ran out of fuel and Biffle finished down in 18th place.
Gary was able to move past Nathan and won the Chaser Eraser for 2008. This gives Gary one free year in the league and also an LROC spot for 2009. This will mark Gary's first appearance in the LROC series where he will do his best to represent Lucky Dog Racing.
Nathan finishes in 2nd place, the same spot he finished last year. By some strange coincidence it was Matt Kenseth that kept him from winning the 2nd year in a row. Last year's winner, Stephen DiCaprio finished in third place this year. Ray Perotta took 4th while John Sherman took 5th.
It was a little disappointing to see a few members miss several weeks or even totally giving up. Just because you appear to be out of it, you shouldn't go down without a fight. Missing picks lessens the entire competition of the game. Maybe for some of those members that return next year, they will show more of a commitment.
Thanks to all the Chase drivers for playing this year. I'm sure all of you hope to make the Chase again and if you do you'll have the opportunity to play this contest again. Once again, congrats to Gary Wheat!
